10 years of working for an international FMCG on what was the world’s largest business transformation project (at that time), left Sean frustrated by watching too much investment bring too little value, and too many consultancies concerned more about their bottom line than the client’s.
Sean set out to make a difference by establishing his own company in 2006 with like-minded, equally experienced colleagues, the purpose of which was to help companies realise more value from their existing capabilities, rather than sell yet more ‘silver bullet’ dreams.
Sean is passionate about companies obtaining real benefit and strategic value from their investments in people, processes and systems. He knows that business transformation isn’t a system, a process or a methodology – its the combination of aligning and integrating together all of the different elements of an organisation together behind a clearly defined strategic focus in order to create previously unachievable levels of financial and operational performance.
Simon Sinek famous declared that:
“people don’t buy what you do; they buy why you do it.”
So, if people buy why you do something, not what you do – why do I do what I do?
I believe that every organisation has the inherent capability to be great – great in the eyes of its customers, its shareholders, employees and stakeholders. A great company with:

Great business results
I believe that consultancy is about facilitating change, creating an environment where the employees and leaders within organisations decide for themselves that they can to be better, decide for themselves that they can work differently, and decide for themselves that good is now longer going to be good enough.
That’s when real, sustainable change occurs.I believe management theory has little or no value unless it can be successfully translated into everyday execution.I believe that the right systems and processes can create huge improvements in business performance, but only if aligned to the delivery of strategic goals, supported by the right roles, responsibilities and measures, and integrated across the end-to-end Value Chain.
I believe real expertise comes from not only knowing what to do, but why.
I believe that you have to be able to help the company develop the right long-term strategic vision for its company, a vision centred around principles, customers and employees, and translate that goal down into the level of transactional activities.
People have to know what it is that they can do differently tomorrow than they did today, and what result doing this new thing will bring. I believe that employees and customers are the two most important stakeholders in the business, and by focusing on creating engagement and loyalty with these groups you will create fantastic shareholder value. I also believe that the opposite is not true.
I believe that the business world needs new hero’s, companies that care, companies that contribute, companies that create – companies with timely visions and timeless values.I believe every company has the potential to be this great…
…and I believe I know how to make it happen for those companies that really want to change, to become great – and who are prepared to put in the disciplined actions and hard thinking needed to make it happen.
Like the joke goes, how many psychiatrists does it take to change a light bulb? Answer: Only one, but the bulb has got to really WANT to change. 20+ years of experience has taught me that every company retains the right to choose NOT to be great, to protect the status quo, to simply remain average.
